Liquid Thoughts from Verbal Math
Some thoughts from Everydaybeats scholar and emcee Verbal Math of Dollabin on mics, life and people who sleep on J. Rawls (waay too many): Yo! This is Verb shouting you all out from Central New York. I'm out here getting started on another degree. I'm not gonna name drop the school in case I need to bitch and moan. I'm slowly getting back up to Dolla speed, getting settled and such. This photo sums it up - mic stand half assembled, but at least it's here (had to grab the suspension jawn from in Wisconsin. I'm out here). Now mic shit coming soon. More posts coming soon. Styles coming soon. Oh yeah. Yesterday was a Liquid day. Yes, I did drink (and saw a grown man and woman fall down together at the bar after a drunken hug went wrong.), but I started off rolling to school bumping Liquid Swords (do I need to speak on the dopeness?) and worked on a paper with J. Rawls' Liquid Crystal 2 in my headphones. I bought this joint months ago and forgot about it, but it's a really nice record. It didn't find it's way on many "Best of Year" lists, which is a shame. But, it's one of those records you put on, start doing something else, and then look up every 5 minutes and think, "Damn, this is pretty good." I'll spare you the redundancy of the "Tribute" tracks, they're nice and all, but check "Me & My Cousin." Just great music. Dig it, and then fall through iTunes and support. And tell your favorite rapper he needs some J. Rawls beats. |
