Records like drugs

Questlove loves digging so much he'll buy records he already owns, and it's caused problems holding down relationships. From the Philly issue of Waxpoetics:

"...Keepin a girlfriend for more than two years has taken a backseat to record shopping: something that is such a high that I'll actually buy albums over and over again just to get the high again..."

Of course, when you're Questlove, you can afford to buy expensive records as many times as you want. But still, I love it any time someone speaks on the record digging addiction. The whole little interview is pretty classic, he reveals a great story Chuck D told him about stealing James Brown records from an ex-girlfriend's father's collection. Quest says that "everybody does this" and it's funny, cuz while I haven't had the chance, I remember a similar story of a friend finding a box of mint James Brown records in the attic of an ex's house, and making off with several. Records!
